PDE-Neuromuscular-TP200

The PDE (posterior dynamic element) is a modular composite spring system technology that takes the guesswork out of building dynamic thermoplastic and carbon braces. PDE Neuromuscular springs are a perfect solution for:

• Any patient who would benefit from a custom posterior leaf spring AFO where pain and offloading of weight are not a key factor.

• Patients with moderate muscle weakness who would benefit from Dorsiflexion & Plantarflexion assistance.

Features:

  • 5 Flex Spring Choices
  • Modular Design
  • Low Profile
  • Post Alignable
  • Clinically Proven
  • Made in the USA

We Made it Simple! Build Your Own Brace

Fabricating a brace using PDE spring technology involves industry-standard methods used for composite and thermoplastic brace fabrication. If you are versed in fabricating laminated and plastic prosthetics or orthotic devices, then you can make a PDE Neuro Brace. Design your own brace, do what is best for the patient. There are only a few rules to follow.

PDE springs are sold in kit form so you can provide your own unique brace designs with engineered consistent results.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT SPRING Basic Guidelines for Choosing PDE Spring Length & Category

AOPA-11X17-Table-Banners-20220826

Because every patient has unique needs there are no specific weight limitations that aid in spring choice. Choose the category based on your patient assessment. As a general rule you want to use the longest spring system your cuff design or patient height will allow. In an Orthopedic case where you are trying to control and limit motion to control pain, we recommend using a higher category spring in the beginning.

200mm & 250mm length springs

A common length to fit a wide variety of patients. Easily adjust and tune to the appropriate spring flex category to provide maximum function and energy return.

SPECIAL NOTE:

Category number three (3) spring is a good starting point. From here the AFO can be tuned Firmer or Softer based on the patient needs. The simple four-bolt system makes changing the spring quick and easy

Alignment shim set

Shim Kit
Easy-to-use shim kit provides the ability to adjust the alignment in both the footplate and upper cuff post-manufacturing, addressing external, internal, plantar & dorsiflexion adjustments.

Recommendation: PDE Fitting Kit

Get it right. Get the Fit Kit.

When building a custom device, it’s always nice to have options. That’s why we created the PDE Fitting Kit.

The Fitting Kit includes a full range of spring categories and assembly components a which allows you to try different options on your patient until you find the perfect fit!

Then just replace the the parts that get used, so you always have a full set of springs & hardware to fit your next patient.

Fit Kit Contents: 5 PDE Springs (One each PDE spring category 1 through 5), mounting anchor kit, alignment shim kit, adhesive dispenser and adhesive.
